2005, the Jules Verne year

On 24 March 2005, it was 100 years ago that Jules Verne passed away. Of course, the Dutch Jules Verne Society commemorated this fact throughout the year 2005. The main events were the large exposition in Rotterdam and the publication of the book “In de ban van Jules Verne”, but many other activities were organized as well.

In many places and during the entire year, we organized expositions, and some bookshops paid attention to Jules Verne in their shop windows. Besides that, there were be several publications written by members of the Dutch Jules Verne Society, various lectures and radio interviews given by members, and some other activities, like films in various cinemas and a symposium in Amiens.

Here we present an overview of the various activities (co-)organized by the Dutch Jules Verne Society. This agenda is no longer updated. It may be that some of the external links in this section of the site are no longer functional, or that some of the address information is outdated.
