Jules Verne exhibition in the Aviodrome

In the summer of 2005, the Dutch Jules Verne and the Dutch National Aviation theme park and Museum Aviodrome organize an exposition about aviation and spaceflight in the works of Jules Verne. The exposition will be opened on 24 June and will be open up to and through the autumn holidays (ending 30 October).

The theme is Jules Verne and aviation and spaceflight. Extra attention will be paid to Robur the Conqueror and From the Earth to the Moon. There will also be a balloon basket, referring to The mysterious island and Verne’s first novel, Five weeks in a balloon. Jules Verne’s “study” can be visited, with a 19th-century collection of curiosities, and two showcases with relevant Jules Verne books.

Lecture

On Saturday, 16 July, our member Karol van Bastelaar will give a lecture on Jules Verne and the development of aviation.
